Peachy Keen!

Lately I've been doing a bit of searching on etsy for party planing supplies as Jude's first Birthday approaches, and I've came across The Peach! They have Handbags, Clothing, Kitschy Cupcake Toppers, Vintage Bits and Bobs, and Cute Charms!

My fave is the princess coach cake topper :) The Peach is run by the super sweet Amy - she is such a doll! Click here to follow her on twitter.

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I just discovered an amazing etsy seller!! It is rare these days for me to get *soooo* excited over a new discovery, and I am thrilled to tell you all about them! I was searching for cupcake things (as I often do) and I came across these cute little felt plushies:

(note - click on the photos to go to the listings and see the pictures close up, it's worth it)

Now, these cupcakes are fabulous on their own but it was what I saw in the little "sellers other items" photos to the right that REALLY caught my attention.

yetis!!look at this cute little goat!

Oh wait, it gets better.

By this point I was squeeling with delight and my husband couldn't understand what was exciting me so much about sock puppets (I tried to tell him that I don't find hockey sticks exciting but when he tells me about them I at least try to act interested, hehe). So then I looked in her sold items and I found:

the details in this alice and wonderland set are amazingunicorn!
sasquatchsuper cute bat

Are these not the cutest things you've ever seen?? She makes them from her own patterns and they are made with no glue, they are all 100% hand stitched. They are tiny little works of art! I think kids need to play with things like this more than the video games and noisy toys that are popular these days, I know I will be buying some for my son. So go check out CherylAsmith!

Owwwwwwwww.

Ok, I just dropped my *large* and heavy guilotine paper cutter on my foot. There was a bruise instantly.. I'm sure that means it will get worse in a couple of hours. Ow ow ow it hurts!!

Selena from Apron Thrift Girl tagged me a few days ago, and in true Chelsea form here I am replying way way late! Hey, better late than never since this will be the first time out of being tagged many times that I actually played along :D Just because I love Selena!

Rules:

1. link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.
2. share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself.
3. tag 7 people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
4. let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

7 weird facts about me that you might not know:

1.) I'm scared of the dark. I'm not sure why, but I think I have bad night vision. I can't clearly discern what anything is so my overactive imagination leads me to believe that the lamp in the corner of the room is really something sinister. I've always been sortof easily scareable, especially in the dark. Oh no - now you know my weakness!! hehe..

2.) Sometimes I get nervous in social situations. I want to say the right thing, but I'm not sure what it is. I feel like I say very stupid/dumb things a lot.. I guess I should just give in to the fact that I may possibly be seen as silly/blonde or that people probably think I'm a bit odd.

3.) I have this pen cup on my desk made from an empty can of sailor moon pasta with tomato sauce. I have had this pen cup for probably almost 10 years now, through multiple moves and yet it still remains.. the only remnant of my sailor moon fan days. I wish I still had my kitty plushes!

4.) I have a thing for built in shelving... it is my dream to one day own a home and have built ins custom made! I would die a happy girl if I could live somewhere with sweet quirky little randomly placed built ins.. I need a place to stash my cute goodies!

5.) I wear flip flops most of the year, as long as I possibly can. I have been known to even wear them when there is snow outside as long as the snow is crunchy enough.

6.) I own a burnt orange honda element that is named "Cloud Rider" and I love it! I know it is funny looking, but I find it charming. I can haul around almost anything in this vehicle...

7.) I have always been a creative person. As a child, I was very into arts and crafts. As a teen, I got interested in singing and theatre, and I took classical voice lessons for 9 years. During highschool, I decided I wanted to be a makeup artist and persued that for 6 years working for almost every major cosmetic line out there. Now I am a mommy and I make and sell papercrafts.. I think it would be weird for me if I didn't have at least one creative outlet in my life, no matter what I'm doing at the current time.

So I hope you enjoyed reading a bit about me :) I guess I found it hard to come up with things... anyways, I am tagging: Aimee, Chelsea Ann, Courtney, Diane, Elizabeth, Jenny, and Maree.

Check back later today for the gift guide :)

Oh, I recieved this in the mail today and it is *so* lovely..

...oops!

I managed to snag an etsy treasury last night! Have a look at it and let me know what you think, it was my first time making one.

If you could like to view it on etsy (and leave me a comment, wink wink) please Click HERE!

We woke up this morning to a couple of feet of snow.. yes, a couple of feet! Winter has arrived in PEI, that's for sure. Matt and I are planning on staying home today and watching movies, playing video games, and eatinng comfort foods. I hope to bake some cupcakes later - it should be a really nice day. We very rarely get time like this together to just stay home and do nothing especially on a weekend.

Speaking of my husband, I just wanted to mention how proud of him I am this week! He works for a mutual funds company offering help to American customers over the phone, and this week he and his class finished training and are now "officially on the job". Yesterday was his first day on the phones, and he recieved a lot of positive feedback about how he was doing. He loves this new job and it is really great for our family, so I am so proud of him for being so good at it, hehe :) Go Matt! Love ya hun.

Ok - now onto the gift guide! Today I'm featuring items for little girls - I wish I had a little girl so I could buy the first two items!

Ballerina table topper
How cute is this? I want one in Chelsea size
Card table play house
Cute felt sweets!

Cooking at home and more

Both the food processor and indoor grill we purchased with Wedding gift cards have sure come in handy already! In addition to making a bunch of baby puree, we have been using both regularly to prepare meals. Here is tonight's:

Look good? :) It was delicious! We had grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, tabbouleh, garlic cheesy bread, and home made sweet potato chips with a home made sauce as a garnish. I used the food processor to both grate the cheese and cut the potatoes.

I also managed between fussy baby moments to put away a few baskets of laundry, sort through Jude's clothing and remove that which no longer fits (he has grown so much that he is now into a 12 month size!), unpack my two suitcases (finally!!!), load and unload the dishwasher 3 times (dinners like that sure make a lot of dishes), put together one of my new shelves, fill out 10 thank you notes, generally tidy up the living room/kitchen, and partially organize the entry way closet. It has been tough getting back into the cleaning/home mode... but I think I am doing OK now despite the slow start.

Matt received a large GST cheque from the government last night, and we also received two late wedding wedding cards. You can never beat money in the mail and we were not expecting anything from the government at all - AWESOME! We went out for Chinese to celebrate and I purchased the shelves I posted about yesterday!! One is put together already and the closet is looking great. Once I am done I will post some photos.... unfortunately I forgot to take before photos :( I promise to remember for the next closet makeover.

And just for fun, check out these cuuuute ribbon spool dolls:

A new flickr friend makes these - aren't they amazingly sweet?! She has made many different varieties and hand paints them all! She is so talented, and has a cute family to boot. Please have a look at her etsy shop and flickr photos! You won't regret it!

yawwwwwwwwwn

I'm so tired. I slept in, AND had a nap with mr baby today already. Too much sleep maybe? All I know is I need to find the solution soon.

I'm still struggling with the battle of the messy house, but I had a realization today as I was laying in bed. I have too much stuff!! I see an idea I like, try to accomplish it, aqcuire all items needed to do it.... and then never get it done (or do it waaaay after I had hoped to). So in an effort to de-clutter my home and get some projects completed I am going on a two week buy nothing challenge. I figure if nothing new is coming in - I can figure out what to do with what is already here. I promise to update along the way with my progress (or lack of, lol).

And just so this post isn't completely boring... here are a bunch of cute throw pillows I found on etsy today!

I really love the red striped ones. They look easy to make... and I have some old boring beige curtains..... hmmmmm :)

I should probably be sleeping...

Isn't this the cutest pincushion? Don't you wish you owned it? I do!! I can just picture it next to my sewing machine..

I get frustrated sometimes when it is expensive to ship to Canada :( USPS - Canada likes recieving things too! Anyways, back to crafting. Yes, I am crafting!!!! Check back soon for some photos :)

Christmas!!!!!!

So, who is excited about Christmas?! I know, I know, I am early..but I am just so excited already!! :) This year we are having Christmas dinner at our house for the first time ever, and I want to make it as awesome as I can so I am starting now! I actually bought my first ornament of the year last night, but I am hoping to be able to buy mostly handmade gifts (or better yet, make my gifts) this year. I have scouted out all of the Christmas craft fairs in my area, cutting out the newspaper announcemements and pinning them to my fridge. My husband thinks I am nuts :) So, as kickoff to pre-Christmas I am going to post some of my favorite christmas items found recently on etsy!
