Reorganization...

I've been struggling for months and months to make my studio into a space that really WORKS for me.. and failing. Now it has come to the EPIC FAIL point and something must be done! I have so much stuff in this tiny room, not to mention there is a play pen in here too! My business is rapidly growing and I'm now going to the flea market weekly so my old storage of completed items must change! I can't deal with piles of crap everywhere all the time and things not having designated places... or they have designated places but they don't make sense in relation to how I function in the room so stuff just ends up everywhere!

My plan is to turn my little writing desk next to my main desk into a "shipping/merchandise" area, and to keep my main desk stocked with MATERIALS only! And then, I will put all unused or not as often used materials and supplies in the closet or the cupboard. I'm going to put things I very rarely use on the top shelf in the closet, and put away all "display" type items that take up valueable organization space. This seems like a better idea.. I hope it works!

So wish me luck! I've promised myself to devote most of my day to doing this and DOING IT RIGHT! I can't count how many times I have attempted to do this and gave up half way.. which just ends up with me not being able to find anything. Here's hoping I can turn this epic fail into something better ;)

PS: the photos in this post are obviously from cleaner days... lol

I love the color scheme of your life! Your work area is so beautifully organized. It's much much better than my ugly brown studio that my husband refers to as the crap room. I'm not sure if he's talking about all the stuff crammed in there or the color...hmm...

Good Luck! Yours looks MUCH more organized and uncluttered than mine! I struggle with that constantly.

I am constantly changing my work/creative space, too. It seems as soon as I think I have it right, I notice something new that needs to change. It's never-ending!

Chelsea, I want to let you know that I have shared your blog link with 3 of my partners as part of this swap on Swap-Bot. The idea is to network with others by sharing our blogs and our favorite blogs to read. Yours came to mind immediately because I enjoy it so much.

If you'd like, come check out my blog. I've recently given it a brand-new name and look, to coincide with my upcoming Etsy shop. (Ooooh, I also bought a couple of goodies from you shop for the first time today! I am so excited!!!) Thanks for being an inspiration!!!

I have a really hard time keeping myself organized too - and I think that your work area looks great! Lots of really fun colors and boundless creativity possibilities.

I found a great way to organize. Do one theme/subject at a time. If I focus on one thing and complete it, I am able to move onto another. Doing everything in one day tends to be overwelming and I end up getting nothing done. Anywho... its just a thought. :)

It seems crafters always struggle with organization. I know I do! My husband always gets frustrated at my crafty clutter. I hope your reorganization goes well! :)

Aww! I hope it works out for you. Right now all my craft stuff is on the other side of my computer desk (it's a corner desk) but it is so messy right now I constantly lose a paint brush or something! I need to clean it really bad. Good luck with cleaning! <3
