My First Car and Some Projects

So.. for the big blog challenge.. my first car:

This is not *my* car - mine was not rusty! But it was a blue 1989 Chrysler Fifth Avenue. The thing was a tank, but it had amazing velvet seats.

And here are some pics of some things I've been working on lately:

The first one is only half done.. it's going to be a mini album in a box and I'm making a bunch of double sided cards each featuring different photos/color scheme to go inside. The buttons are glazed into the bottom of the box. The second one I have to complete the back pages. I don't normally post incomplete stuff, but I have been dying to post pictures and haven't had much actually finished.. I have 3 more LO's to photograph yet.

Oh, and as for my accomplishment list today..

- 1 load of laundry
- emptied and loaded dishwasher
- wiped countertops
- vaccuuming the main level
- wiped and tidied coffee table and TV stand
- hopefully more later! I have a very untidy craft room

Awesome Site!

I just found THIS awesome site!! It has scans of magazines.. all kinds of magazines.. and very recent ones. Check it out.

Also look back here later today to see PICTURES! :) I have a camera again.

My Favorite Magazines..

Ahh... Magazines. I spend *way* too much on magazines, they are my weakness. I regularily buy Creating Keepsakes, Canadian Scrapbooker, Scrapbooks etc, Better homes and Gardens, Canadian Living, Style at Home Canada, Martha Stewart Living, and I love those special interest publications that BHG puts out with organziational tips or the ones that focus on certain rooms in the home. I sometimes buy Real Simple, Paper Crafts, Simple Scrapbooks, and Memory Makers.

I have asked for magazine subscriptions for Christmas, lol :)

Funny Photo

Here is my funny photo for Sunday... my little Jude giving Courtney's Xander a bro punch.

I made an awesome scrapbook LO last night.. hopefully I can get a pic up soon.

And my accomplishments for the day:

- one load of laundry done, dried, and folded
- put all of the baby's laundry away (except the stuff I didn't have enough hangers for)
- tidied up the nursery
- changed the sheets on the crib (now this is a pain in the butt if you have bumper pads)
- loaded, unloaded, and loaded the dishwasher

Not much today. Sunday is a day of rest right?? right?? lol

Accomplishment

I've been on this massive mission to clean up my house and KEEP it clean for good. I decided I need to document the things I accomplish each day so I don't end up discouraged with myself or overwhelmed. So, here's what I did today:

- put away 3 baskets full of laundry
- did a load of laundry
- emptied and re-filled the dishwasher
- picked up a lot of junk out of the bedroom. not too far to go on this room now.
- organized under the coffee table
- finished re-organizing the bookshelf in the living room
- got a bunch of blog posts done! :P

My lower floor is looking awesome, now to just get my upstairs on the same path.. my ultimate dream is to finally finish the craft room.

Omg, it's like craft room porn

She has that poster! jealous

I want a teal craft room *SO* badly. This room is amazing! Check out this thread to see more photos and her before pictures.

Loss of Camera? Fail :(

My camera is dead.

Yes, it is very sad news indeed. Something is wrong with the bettery, and it won't charge. As I posted the other day I am planning on getting a DSLR after my wedding - but my wedding is two months away. Faced with the idea of missing out on 2 months of my son's life in pictures, I decided to beg my mother for temporary custody of her camera. Lucky, I have a very wonderful mother and she agreed. Yay! I was in a tizzy over this yesterday though.. Jude was sitting in the laundry basket and looking totally beyond adorable and Matt and I thought it was a very pictureworthy moment. That's when we discovered the camera wasn't working and unfortunately we missed that shot. Ah well :(

Anywho, I started this post to talk about an inspiring blog I found today through Scrapscene (by the way, you should all sign up for their RSS feed and have the posts delivered right into your inbox. I did and love it). Her name is Leslie Ashe and here is some of her amazing work. I read her blog in it's entirety, something I often do when I find a really great blog.

I especially love the last one - that would make such an awesome gift. Actually, according to her blog it *was* a gift for her sister.

My Fantasy Home...

Ok. Day 2 BBC post! Doing good so far. So... I can't particularly think of any "TV Home" that I would really love, so I'm just going to talk about how I would put together my dream home if I had the resources. I have this big folder on my computer called "Inspiration" where I save all kinds of images that I think are fun - and within that folder I have a special sub folder just for home decor stuff... so here are a few of my faves. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where they all came from now.

Very cool nursery.
Isn't this so cheerful?
Retro colored teal cupboards and chandeliers... swoon.

I'm in love with the idea of having an entry way with cubbies for every family member - just like at school. How cute is that??
This would be something I would love to have in my dream playroom. Sigh.
Love the wall color and the retro/modern combination.
I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove the keep calm and carry on poster. They are sold on etsy, and someday I hope to get one :D Hint, hint to Matt for a Christmas gift?? I also love love love white with pops of color.. especially pink.
Art grouped into interesting clusters is my fave.
I love the trees! And the wall color.
A little weird, I know, But I've been seeing these faux mounted heads all over the home decor magazines lately.. I think they're kitschy and cool.
I would absolutely looove to own one of these. Matt seems to be frightened by owls though.. lol.. I have a small ceramic owl collection and he hates them.

Anyways, I could go on forever posting images of things I would love in my some-day home. Hope you enjoyed what I did post :)

Hello August!

Alright... so here I am, posting. Keeping up so far with my vow to post daily in August. Lately I've been feeling a huge lack of creativity and had been becomming very frustrated (I have been trying way too hard to force it), but last night I stumbled across this blog and was so inspired by almost everything this awesome woman does! She is the writer of "bend the rules sewing" - a book I coincidentally have been eyeing for a while now. I spent about an hour reading her blog (I love finding a really good blog and going back as far as I can reading it) and after that I had so many fun ideas swimming around in my head that I had to pull out a notebook and write them down or I would forget most of the awesomeness by morning.

So, since I joined the big blog challenge for August.. here is today's entry. We were told to go draw a house at Drawahuse.com. This is my house and what it says about me.

Based on your drawing and the 10 answers you gave this is a summary of your personality:

You are sensitive and indecisive at times. You are good at making friends and when the joyful moment arrives, you make the most out of it. You love your house and family. You are a gifted artist as well. Once you have a problem, you need a friend with you. Your life is always full of changes. You are very tidy person. There's nothing wrong with that because you're pretty popular among friends. Your life is always full of changes.

You will avoid being alone and seek the company of others whenever possible. You love excitement and create it wherever you go. You see the world as it is, not as you believe it should be.

You added a flower into your drawing. The flower signifies that you long for love. It also safe to say that others don't see you as a flirt. You don't think much about yourself.

Interesting. It's fairly accurate for the most part. Funny that analizing a little doodle can tell you so much about yourself :P

Last night I discovered that as a free member on flickr I can only have 3 photosets, and I got pretty bummed because we can't afford the $25 right now for me to register... BUT! MATT GOT A NEW JOB!! He is going to be making *alot* more than he is now - almost Alberta wages. Plus, the hours are 9-6 M-F and he will get full benefits and RSP contributions. Faaancy. It's in the investment field. When he came home from the interview, they had given him a little tin of 'investMINTS'. I thought it was clever and based on that I decided they must be a very good employer. They had also given him a fancy notepad, pen and folder. When I found that out after seeing the mints, I was practically over the moon about this new job. Yes, I am obviously one of those people easily swayed by cororate bribery, no matter how insignifigant. Anyways, the point of that long winded paragraph was that SOON I can buy a better flickr membership and start posting photos like crrraaaazy! My plan is to buy a DSLR after our wedding.

Anyways.... much to be done around here... until tommorrow my friends ;P

No, not dead

Ok, so, I know I have been terribly neglectful of this little blog and I apologize. I have been so busy with a recent trip to Alberta, Wedding Planning (60 days!!!), and Summer. It's been too nice to stay inside. But anyways.... I have joined the blog challenge for August and this time I promise to keep it up.

Check back soon for some pictures of all the stuff I brought back from Alberta, and some other stuff I've been working on :)
