Battling Fruit Flies..

Ugh, it's the time of year for fruit flies. I spent a few hours today cleaning and disinfecting every inch of my house after trapping them all. Blech.

Anyways, that's all I have to say. I never have anything to say when I think about writing and since peopl have started reading more I guess I think about writing too much.. that's a never ending circle?? Basically, I don't know how to write so I share photos weee. Speaking of, I updated my flickr stream yesterday and there are pictures of me!

Fruit flies are such a pain!! I have had to get rid of them many times. Down here in Florida in a house we rented years ago, the back yard had orange trees. That = fruit fly insanity! haha.

When I have trouble with fruit flies, I make a homemade fly trap. Pour a little apple cider vinegar into the bottom of a wide-mouthed jar. Roll a sheet of paper into a cone shape and stick the point into jar so that it sits just about an inch or so above the surface of the vinegar. The flies are attracted to the scent of the vinegar, they fly in and can't fly out! It doesn't look terribly classy, but it does work!

Well I got an infection by one of them. They bit me on the cheek and it swollen real bad. From my cheek to my neck and ear. I found what help to desinfect my cheek. I use fresh garlic, apply it to my cheek with band aid, I also put a piece of garlic in my ear and I mashed up on piece of garlic and swallowed it. They say that garlic is like an antibiotic, it does the work. If ever you have a virus, swallow garlic everyday, it will make your immune system stronger.
