Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

I hope you are all getting in some quality time with your sweethearts today :)

I was a super sneaky wife yesterday and surprised Matt with a really nice date - at home. We were originally planning to go out but I have been over-doing it a bit on my foot lately and felt really tired, so I decided to do something fun at home instead. I told him I got restaurant reservations so he totally didn't expect it.

For supper we had good steaks, roasted veggies, baked potatoes, coleslaw, and yummy trifle for dessert. I hung little paper hearts from the cieling fan (had to stand on a chair to do this, I think it got me extra brownie points lol), put a red cloth on the table, some red candles, and got some cute glittery heart decorations from the dollar store. And then we ate in the dark, because I am nerdy like that and wanted to feel like I was in a restaurant. Matt was slightly annoyed by that part but I didn't care :P We listened to 80's sattelite radio while we ate and tried to guess the songs/artists. I mostly failed - but for some unknown reason I guessed "echo beach" after hearing only a few lines.

Then we watched Zack and Miri Make a Porno and Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. All in all, this valentine's day has been the best ever so far and we still have a baby sitter until tomorrow! I think there may be Mario Party/Rockband times in store...

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Just for fun... here's a video of the song I currently can't stop singing, I think it is appropriate for valentine's day. I can't help it.. I love Lady Gaga. The part where she is in bed with pink heels is just too adorable!

Let me count the ways....

Hey everyone! Sorry I have missed a few days of blogging :) It's been busy here, and today is MATTS BIRTHDAY!! :) My very favorite husband is turning 26 today...

Isn't he cute? Well, I think so, hehe. I decided that in honor of Matt's Birthday I am going to share 26 things that I love about him..

- I really love how much he makes me laugh, and how much fun we have together. And now that we have a son, we all giggle :D

- He's tall! I love how tall he is, it makes me feel like the small girl and that I am protected :D

- He has great taste in music, and introduced me to some bands that are now my very favorites... but without him I never would have given them a chance.

- He has really nice hair, baldness is not in his horizion - ever!

- His family is amazing and accepted me as one of their own, and family is very important to him.

- He is accepting of my quirks/crazyness, and puts up with me!

- He is really genuine and sincere, a real nice guy ;)

- He knows almost every simpsons joke there has ever been, and randomly quotes them.

- If you need to know something about sports, ask him and there is a good chance that he knows!

- When we were living in Calgary far away from his family, they sent Christmas letters and he teared up when reading them.

- I love how he rolls up in his blankets like a giant taco, then he has a hugging pillow, a foot blanket, and....

- He has a comfort blanket named big bird, which is smelly and disgusting but he loves. And that's pretty cute.

- His cheeks are soft.

- He's an amazing daddy!

- He drove me alllll the way across Canada. I played Nintendo DS for 8 days while he drove... what a sweetie.

- He thnks almost everything I do is funny, or cute. I'm forever saying "what?!" and he says "Oh you're just cute"

- He is the best friend I've ever had.

- He works so hard for his family. Up until last week he had two jobs, and would still tidy up the house and feed/put Jude to sleep at night to give me a break.

- When I come to bed at night and he is already asleep, he hugs me.

- I love how we have "Family jumping time" every day after work, where he, Jude and I all jump up and down and giggle together.

- I love when he gets home from work and I feel like a dead mommy he looks at me like I'm beautiful!

- I love how cute he looks in a sweater vest.

- I love how he fusses over his hair in the rear view mirror.

- He is so proud of being Dutch, and owns a *lot* of dutch soccer merchandise, hehe.

- When I clean, he always tells me how nice the house looks and make me feel appreciated. He also likes my cooking even when I think it is boring, and always has something nice to say about my crafts :D

- I love how easy it has been to come up with 26 things I love about him, and how I could keep going forever..

So here's to you hon.. I hope the next 26 years of your life are as awesome as the first :) And I'm so happy I get to be there with you!

...oops!

I managed to snag an etsy treasury last night! Have a look at it and let me know what you think, it was my first time making one.

If you could like to view it on etsy (and leave me a comment, wink wink) please Click HERE!

We woke up this morning to a couple of feet of snow.. yes, a couple of feet! Winter has arrived in PEI, that's for sure. Matt and I are planning on staying home today and watching movies, playing video games, and eatinng comfort foods. I hope to bake some cupcakes later - it should be a really nice day. We very rarely get time like this together to just stay home and do nothing especially on a weekend.

Speaking of my husband, I just wanted to mention how proud of him I am this week! He works for a mutual funds company offering help to American customers over the phone, and this week he and his class finished training and are now "officially on the job". Yesterday was his first day on the phones, and he recieved a lot of positive feedback about how he was doing. He loves this new job and it is really great for our family, so I am so proud of him for being so good at it, hehe :) Go Matt! Love ya hun.

Ok - now onto the gift guide! Today I'm featuring items for little girls - I wish I had a little girl so I could buy the first two items!

Ballerina table topper
How cute is this? I want one in Chelsea size
Card table play house
Cute felt sweets!

Photo Wednesday? lol

I had to bribe Matt to give me the laptop by promising to talk about the Blue Jays on my blog, so - here you go Matt ;)

The blue jays have won ten consecutive games in a row and he thinks they might have a chance to make it into the playoffs. They are his favorite team, so he's naturally very excited about this prospect.

Now onto the fun stuff - Photos!! I took a bunch of photos today (finally). I was even able to make a small paper craft now that my space is a bit tidier, and I cleaned up my supplies after I was done. I really wanted to just leave them on the desk, but I am commited to trying to keep the studio tidy now. Enough chatter, let's see the pictures :)

Some polymer clay buttons I have on the go. I've developed a good system and can make them pretty quickly. I hope to paint some nice designs on them and then glaze them and offer packages in the Paper*Cakes etsy shop.

The little craft I spoke about earlier.. just a little tag. I had this pre-made tag in a drawer, and just worked off of the blue background color. It seems boy themed, maybe for a birthday gift for a little boy or a shower gift for a mom expecting a boy. The back is completely finished and professional, with a place to write. The tag itself is oversized, so it can be used as a card/tag in one.

Lastly.. I've been working on a little 'entryway' station. It's actually on a wall in my living room (the stairs are behind) just before the entrance to the kitchen. (When you walk into our home, you basially walk into the living room. We have a teeny townhouse.) I wanted to create a little nook where people could sit and put on shoes, while having jackets and bags handy. I found the boards with hooks in them at a discount store for $2.99 each and painted them red. My hope is to make a cushion for the bench, get a little end table to sit where the laundry basket is in the photos, and maybe hang a few pictures above the rows of hooks. For now it works :)

24 days until nuptuals

So last night, I guess I realized I have been having some wedding jitters. After spilling all to Matt a big sense of relief washed over me. I never thought *I* would be the one to have wedding nervousness, we have a baby together for cripes sakes! Very early in our relationship I knew that someday we would get married, I even told my mother that the first time she met him. He said he is't nervous at all, so it seems like things are opposite of how they should be? Is it opposite day?? I'm going to put my pants on backwards!

As a side note, I just found THIS SITE and am creeped out. I didn't make this or submit to it, and.. the date is wrong. Weird.

Anyways, Matt has a day off for the first time in forever... I am not going to fritter it away by hiding out on the internet all day. See ya's!

PS: don't forget I have the little shoutout box thing.. it feels lonely and sad. It is making this face :( If it continues to get underused I shall have to remove it and then it will be making this face :'(
